Photoshop is Sick

 

Similarly to how I created the baseball cards, I experimented with a variety of effects and tools in order to create interesting and diverse compositions featuring characters from the video game Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Though I really enjoyed creating all of these pieces, I think I liked the "Aerith" and "Sephiroth" ones the most. The glitch effect that I used, while not really being too difficult to implement, was super effective at changing a single image into a work of digital art. Before working on these, I wasn't at all familiar with the Filter>Render>Flame setting, but after seeing how easy and cool the effect is in a YouTube video, I decided to add it to the Sephiroth piece. As the main villain of the game I wanted to place him in an environment that would express that. The flame effects, adjusted coloration, and added ember images seemed to really place him inside that type of environment. 

As a side note: Cloud, Barret, Tifa, and Aerith are all the main protagonists of the game, but at one point Aerith is killed by Sephiroth which is why I wanted to portray her in such a way.
