3 Pieces from 1
Recently, I've been doing a good amount of photo editing in Photoshop. Using Photoshop to edit pictures has been a hobby I've enjoyed for quite a few years now but due to my Digital Imaging class, I've had more time to practice and experiment with my skills.
I had made use of various tools such as separate layers, various selection tools, adjustment layers, blending modes/options, pixelation/rendering, shape tools, the paint brush tool, as well as a few others.
For a project, I had to take an image and separate it into three separate art boards to create different compositions that looked nothing like the original. The picture above is what I had chosen as the base image. To start I had placed random elements onto each piece, working on them until I ended up with a more collage-looking piece for the first one, a basic composition with more saturated background elements, and a colorful layout with bold typography for the third.
Though this layout may look complete, I felt like I could still make it appear far more interesting. For the second half of my time working on this project, I experimented a lot more with the text from the source material, completely changed the second piece to has a 'glitched' or 'broken' appearance, and made the third piece a bit more interesting by finding more ways to make an interesting background and typography.
I felt like this final product had made the project fulfill its purpose as three distinct pieces which deviate enough from the original source while still maintaining the elements which make a composition appealing and creative.
