Editing Photos

Other than the pieces I've done for other classes that require the use of Photoshop, I have also had small personal projects where I would use my picture editing skills. These projects are typically for social media posts that I thought would look better enhanced.

I wouldn't consider any of these pictures to have any real challenging or difficult edits made to them, but I wanted to have some further practice with using interesting color schemes along with the rule of thirds in a composition. For the picture above, I was inspired by one of my favorite shows Dragon Ball Z to create a picture that would change an average photograph of myself into a more detailed and colorful one using the character Shenron and the Dragon Balls.

The other images are part of a winter-themed series where I experimented with various filters, overlays, and adjustments in order to create more interesting images. For the first three, I attempted to use 'retro-styled' overlays off of google images to portray them as photographs taken/recorded on older hardware. The last piece I had taken inspiration from a project I had done in my high school where everyone had to take an image and edit it to make everything appear frozen. Though I didn't have a complete ice effect over the whole composition, I did feel good about the look of the icy ground, snow effect, and deep blue sky.

Overall, I feel like though each of these pieces couldn't really be considered an opus of mine by any means, for small social media project I was more than satisfied.
