Digital-Tactile-Digital
For my Digital Imaging class, we had to create a unique composition that used images of physically edited pictures that were then photographed and added to the digital canvas. Along with this, the composition had to be related to a specific text, to which I selected a portion of Psalms 37:7 saying, "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him".
To reflect this, I used physical alterations such as tears, water drops, marker writing, and smudges with steel wool. The tears are supposed to represent the brokenness sadness and destruction in our lives, but despite that God remains unchanged which is why the tears don’t effect the cross but rather highlight it more. Similarly, the water drops are supposed to mimic tears which can also represent the brokenness that we experience. I used the color blue primarily for the first artboard to represent the sadness of an unpleasant situation, while the warmer yellows and oranges are used to represent the joyfulness which God brings us if we wait and trust in Him.
