New Horizons Project
My latest project for my digital imaging class had me use Photoshop to create a piece containing four artboards that would portray what a horizon was to me. At first I had little to no idea of what to do as we could only use pictures of horizons that each individual had already taken and for me, I basically only had landscapes to use. It wasn't until I remembered a photograph of a cross I took at the Roman Coliseum until I had an idea. A few of the many photographs used pictured below.
I wanted to convey the new horizons, or new beginnings, which are started by Jesus. Each piece can not only represent a moment in Jesus' life (The silent night of His birth, the tranquil landscape of His ministry, the pain from His crucifixion, and the triumph of His resurrection), but also the many new trials and times of peace in our own lives as well. For each piece, the main subject (the cross) is in the same position to represent that no matter where we are in life, whether a bad season or good season, Jesus never changes. I wanted to use a distinct color scheme for each piece to convey a sense of diverse emotion to the viewer.
